Day 22 - June 11, 2009

Today was a great day - it was one of our only days off, so I slept in until noon! At four we headed to Tel-Aviv to see Seven Jewish Children - what a moving play. If you can, look it up on youtube, it's only about 20 minutes long. It was performed in the street so we had a variety of audience members, some of whom were infuriated and some of whom were moved to tears. We then did an impromptu small protest downtown, and what amazed me was not the objections that we received, as they were to be expected - it was the amount of support that was so clearly evident. We had an Israeli woman and her young child join our march, and we got thumbs ups and peace signs (among other hand signs) from onlookers. It has struck me recently how not all Israelis are supportive of this apartheid regime - many are ill-informed and unaware, and a growing number are against it. Tonight my hope for change was truly renewed.
